A gorgeous purple fluorite specimen from the renowned Yaogangxian Mine in Hunan, China, featuring layers of lavender and deeper violet color, beautiful cubic crystal growth, and phantom-like internal zoning visible throughout many of the crystals.

This piece is absolutely covered in fluorite. Individual cubes overlap and build across the matrix, ranging from softly translucent lavender to concentrated pockets of deeper purple. Look closely and you’ll see darker purple zones suspended within lighter crystal growth, giving many of the cubes a dimensional, almost crystal-within-a-crystal appearance.

The purple fluorite is beautifully contrasted by areas of bright white matrix and scattered metallic mineralization, making the specimen interesting from every angle.

And then there’s its second look: this fluorite is UV reactive. Under ultraviolet light, the specimen reveals another side of itself, making it an especially fun addition for collectors who love fluorescent minerals.
